She was baptised on 15 June 1783 at St Hildas, Bilsdale. Both her parents die early in Margaret's life. In Ann Atkinson's Will, she gives guardianship of Margaret to her own mother Ann Atkinson and also Elizabeth Grey. Margaret married John Sunley in Helmsley on 28 Jan 1806. They had the following children 1. William Sunley 1810-1882 2. Hannah Sunley 1812- 3. Margaret Sunley 1815- 4. Jane Sunley 1817- 5. Ellen Sunley 1820- 6. Rachel Sunley 1823-1863 7. Mary Sunley 1824- 8. Stephen Sunley 1825-1880 Margaret, widow of John Sunley, Helmsley, was buried on 24 February 1850, aged 66 years (source findmypast Yorkshire Burials images).
